Very light nose hardly any burn. Flavors of vanilla marshmallow, cherry, light oak, medium mouthfeel and finish. Great whiskey and well done.

Boozy rum soaked bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, coconut, rye bread, white chocolate, macadamia nuts, apple cake and long finish with medium mouthfeel.

I was lucky enough to get to try a Very Old Carter 27 in Kentucky and more luck in getting a bottle of this. It’s not quite the 27, but it has many of the same notes. It comes racing out of the glass like a champion racehorse at nearly 140 proof, be warned friends of mine who aren’t use to high proof whiskey had their tongues trampled by this beast. The nose on it warns you of its proof but provides smells of apricot jam, toast, caramel and the strangest flavor of smartees chalk candy. Once you take a sip it’s everything on the nose and much more. I couldn’t keep up with it besides just loving the ride. Then it finishes with a ride into the sunset with a velvety long malty fruit that lingers for minutes and draws you back in craving another ride on the beast that is just untamable but so fun.

Very nice with notes of sandalwood and tropic fruits with a medium finish. I’d rather have the rye for a third of the cost.

Banana bread, walnuts, smoking olive oil, pear pastry, caramel, cloves and medium finish.

Nice but boring. Average bourbon with fruit notes and little bite. Medium mouthfeel with creamy corn, cherries, coconut, cinnamon, vanilla, light oak and stewed apples. Happy to drink but would look for other options if possible.

Amazing whiskey! It’s nice and velvety with almost no bite. Creamed corn, leather, light oak, elegant mouthfeel and medium finish.

Lots of brown sugar caramel. Punches hard with alcohol then mellows with sweet pecan caramel pie and whipped cream. Long finish.

Floral with orange creme light sandalwood, caramel cream, tangerine and rosewood butterscotch and long floral finish. Very light on the tongue with no burn. Dances like a ballerina on the tongue with flawless effort. Viscous mouthfeel.

This is a hell of a good whiskey. One eight has done a great job with this one. You instantly smell the sherry and cognac finish on the nose with notes of grape skins, figgy pudding, cherry pie filling, cinnamon, leather and rich caramel. On the taste your tongue is wrapped in this oily blanket with flavors of orange zest, roasted cacao nibs, aniseed, golden raisins with a medium finish.
