I’ve always put Jeffersons on a pedestal, but in recent years I’ve been disappointed in the Jefferson Manhattan, oceans and the Marian McClain. Jefferson’s Tropics was sitting on the shelf, one bottle left. I had not seen it before. Did a Google and ended up, leaving it and walking out but before I pulled out of the parking lot, I convinced myself to go back in and take a chance. This bottle gave me faith in Jefferson’s and distillers trying unique methods. At 104 proof, I almost finished the bottle when I first opened it. A very tasty easy drinker, I wish there was more produced, and it was easier to find. Great bottle if you can get your hands on it. 

Maybe the most unique expression from Wild Turkey. If you are a fan of all things WT, this will definitely stand out from the standard WT & Russell’s offerings. W. B. Saffell has a strong wood component with little oil, some tobacco and even chocolate forward. It’s full bodied with baking spice throughout reminding me of some of the better Russell’s picks. Overall, it’s just a flavor profile and combo you don’t come across often. Makes sense they kept it’s release to only a pint. It might not be for everybody looking for a classic bourbon, but if you want an adventure, you will appreciate the experience and understand it’s limited allocation.

The heat is undeniable but a few drops of water bring out some of the most sought after flavor notes Elijah Craig has to offer. More depth than standard ECBP, well worth the hype. 1 down 2 to go
