    My first bourbon. Not the best, but not the worst. It is better than some much more expensive pours. Actually, at the price point, it is drinkable. Better as a mixer than it is neat.

    Dark, sweet and easy drinking. Quite possibly the best rum in the world. Chase it with a Red Stripe and you’ve got the penultimate Jamaican experience without traveling to the island.

    Isopropyl nose that mellows into sweetness as it breathes. Spiciness that belies the 18% rye. Sweet, but astringent finish. Not bad, but there are better in the price range.

    Another of the low rye mashbill bourbons from Buffalo Trace. At 3 times the price of Benchmark, and not as good as either Benchmark or Buffalo Trace Bourbon, this one’s a pass.

    One of several low rye mashbill selections from Buffalo Trace Distillery. At just over twice the price of Benchmark, though a very enjoyable pour, it doesn’t produce twice the quality. I’ll stick with the lower priced Benchmark as my daily dram.
