Initial impression was this one was a little rough. Then after a rough day at work, I found it to be very drinkable.

I prefer my bourbon neat. This one is definitely a mixer. Try it as a Pickleback. And if you’re in TX, substitute Best Maid Sour Pickle Beer for the pickle juice.

Quite possibly the best bang for the buck on the bottom shelf. May be an “entry level” Bourbon, but for flavor and smoothness it is hard to beat at twice the price. Revisited this after drinking many more bourbons, and switching to dark rum for a while. The price, at VA ABC, is down to $9.99 for 750 ml. I think my rating should be revised to 4.0, but this is still one of the best bottom shelf bourbons on the market.
