Another stop on my tour of the bottom shelf. Bought the 1.75 L on sale, at VA ABC, for $15.99. Ethanol on the nose led to an unexpected sweetness on the palate. Almost Pecan Twirl like, but with a little alcohol burn. Not bad, but not good enough to replace Benchmark as my daily dram. After this aerates a couple of days, the pecan oiliness increases. Tried a splash of water(something I never do), and it toned the pecan flavor down a little but overly enhanced the sweetness. I don’t dislike it enough to pour it out, but am looking forward to this bottle being empty.17.99 USD per Bottle

Ragged Branch Wheated Virginia Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Virginia, USA
Tasted May 25, 2022A touch of wheater sweetness that is overpowered by the ethanol burn. Not bad, but overpriced. Save money and drink Makers.43.99 USD per Bottle -
Ethanol on the nose that carries through to the taste. Little to the mouthfeel, other than astringency. Relatively hot finish, that lingers. Wouldn’t recommend this one neat, but it might be a passable mixer. Spend a little more and drink Jameson. Or, spend a little less and drink Bushmills. Either alternative surpasses the Tullamore.27.99 USD per Bottle

$27.99 for a 1.75 liter, but was on sale for $24.99. Bought this one on the Distiller App rating, and wasn’t disappointed. There is sweetness and a little rye spice from the 10% rye mashbill. Easy drinking and flavorful neat, the 100 proof BiB iteration would probably be better for mixing, but why would you mix bourbon?27.99 USD per Bottle
