Liquid dessert. Lower proof makes it a great offering for a Bourbon amateur or my wife's friends. This is a knockout for someone who tends to err on the side of sweeter cocktails. Caramel & chocolate dominate for me, wiyh a quick smooth finish that doesn't last at all. If I could stomach the sweetness, I could drink this all day long.49.99 USD per BottleLocal Vine

Woodford Reserve Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 30, 2019 (edited September 2, 2019)As a lifetime fan of Woodford Reserve, I had very high expectations for their new wheat whiskey, but really I felt I was left hanging. Sure, I get the sweetness and vanilla that I expected, but got lots of spice and pepper on the palette, which lingers long into the finish and wasn't quite what I was wanting out of this pour. Almost bought 2 bottles when I saw it because I'm such a WR fan, but glad I didn't. This one might sit on my shelf for a while.39.99 USD per Bottle -
Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Bourbon (107 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 16, 2019 (edited December 12, 2019)I'll excuse the waitress for offering me the "Pappy 10 Year" because she was knowledgeable enough about bourbons to offer similar taste profiles when they were out of my first choice. It's not a true "Pappy" but I'll let it slide. Served to me at about a 3oz pour in a rocks glass. Got tons of butterscotch and caramel on the nose, which became even more fragrant as it opened up in the glass. Taste was smooth and silky, true to the Buffalo Trace mash bill. Vanilla, caramel, raisins, and definite oak on the palate. Finish was every so slightly hotter than I was expecting, but enjoyable with lingering Graham crackers and maybe a raisin or two. I'd buy this bottle, but I'm unsure yet if I'd do so at secondary prices. This is superior to me than OWA 107, but given the market right now, I'd probably opt for the OWA. However, that doesn't detract from my belief that this bourbon provides quite the enjoyable experience and I'd gladly partake again. Just don't tell me it's Pappy. :)40.0 USD per PourJoey D's Oak Room -
Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 19, 2019 (edited July 30, 2019)Happened upon a dinner spot that offered pours of ETL, so I had to try one. 1oz pour in a glencairn and let it breathe for 10 minutes. It was fine. Similar to some of the other BT products, my experience is that it didn't live up to the hype. Good citrus and vanilla on the nose, but that's where it ended for me. Taste profile and finish were too spicy and a little earthy. "Just like blantons" was what I was told, but I disagree. I'll drink it again if offered but probably won't buy a bottle.13.0 USD per Pour -
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B519
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 16, 2019 (edited December 6, 2019)Was given a bottle of B519 as a gift. My first taste of ECBP and man am I now a fan! Wish it wasn't so rare to find in Atlanta (on the shelves) or this might become a daily drinker for me. -
A very easy sipper. Neat in a glencairn gives me vanilla, woodiness, with a very nutty undertone and finish. Peanuts and the occasional banana will linger. Was recommended this by a bartender when they ran out of Willett pot still. Not a replacement, but definitely added a bottle to my bar after trying.34.99 USD per BottleEast Cobb

MSRP on this bourbon is in the $25-$30 per bottle range, and if you could ever find it at that price (good luck) , I'd say it's fair. Massively overhyped for my taste and not worth what people are paying for it. I enjoyed a 2oz pour neat and would drink it again, but I'd never put it on the pedestal that it's currently on. There are much better wheated, more accessible bourbons on the market right now in my opinion.25.0 USD per Pour1920 Tavern
