This is my favorite lightly-aged pot still rum, with a sweet and smooth viscosity and a long palate, a step up from Bayou White rum and Pritchards Crystal rum which are pot stills that are available on the eastern seaboard but are non-aged white rums (both very enjoyable and recommended as well)

My earthy, low-end Guyana rum of choice, not to sip, but to add hogo turbo to tiki drinks. Better than El Dorado in this price range. I just keep coming back to it and always repurchase it when I run out, A rum portfolio diversifier par excellence.

Rates high against other unaged white rums, forward sweetness without harshness, long palate. As an unaged pot-still rum, can be used in some of Martin Cate's punches without resorting to overproof Wray and Nephew. Another good American in the pot-still in this age statement is Prichard's, available at Total Wine in Maryland. I purchased Bayou at a Virginia ABC store in the DC metro area. Both are excellent for the category.

Simple, smooth, buttery, but not a lot of depth or complexity. Received as a gift.

Very impressed with Plantation offerings (at their price points). Expectations were too high for the Stiggins, had several on the rocks using a value proposition scoring philosophy.

My sense of smell is way below average, but here is what it says on their website: "Aromas of ripe butter, subtle flan caramel custard and white raisin above dried fruit and spices. The palate opens with sweet caramel that quickly gives way to charred wet wood, with white raisin close behind before subtle coconut husk and banana leading to nice long buttery woody notes that linger in the long finish". Buying this for friends as a sipping rum to accompany my other sipping rum on their shelf, Ron Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva Rum

Purchased this as Xmas presents for my friends, was a big hit, whiskey drinkers could not believe that they liked this as a sipping rum. A little on the sweet side for me, but so smooth. Hit of the party.

Probably the best value for a sipping rum, without exception. It is Maker's Mark smooth, so much so that while it adds extremely well-balanced florals and sweetness to tiki drinks, it might be too subtle for people that like a little edge in their beverage. Not sure how they offer it at this price point.
