Sugar, spice, and everything nice. I get a lot of cherry in this pick which is addicting. I’ll be on the lookout for more of these. Haven’t met an old forester I didn’t like.

My first 5. I found my soulwhiskey. Very corn forward, brown sugar, powerful oak barrel flavor, notable heat but doesn’t linger at 120 proof. Huge body. This old girl is THICK. I bought 3 bottles without question. It’s like nothing you’ve tasted before.

Very refined and balanced. Makes you say “damn that’s good”. It’s notably smoother than the 12 year at the same 100 proof. Not sure it’s double the price better. Very pleased with this bottle though. Buy it and try it next to the 9 and 12 year. Get back to me.

One of the more complex ryes I have tasted. Very flavorful and a lot to unpack. Fruity, spicy, woody, sweet. If you can afford it, it’s definitely a fun bottle to own.

Pleasantly surprised by this whiskey. Sweet rich flavor with a smooth finish. Drinks above it’s price. I’ll be keeping this in my bar.

It took me 2 months to build up the courage to buy this bottle at $80. I was even talked out of it by the store clerk on one occasion but my curiosity had already latched on. My expectations were admittedly almost too much to live up to. And they were met. This is good stuff. It’s like a bourbon sandwich between two pieces of marble rye whiskey. The familiar rye spice is an immediate kick to the mouth but then quickly mellows to warm vanilla, oak, and sugary dough. The rye slowly returns for a nice clean spicy finish and ultimately a cooling mint sensation. Feels like I’m on the frontier pulling from a flask at the turn of the century. The only thing that I hate more than it being $80 is the fact that I will certainly buy it again.

They’re on to something. This is good stuff and becoming hard to find. Brown sugar, cinnamon, and spice. Great mouth feel and body. Smoother than I expected.

I’ll always have a bottle of this on my shelf. It’s a gateway rye for folks who might not be into it yet. Buy it if you see it even if you don’t like it. Someone does.

CORN. Fruity, kinda like a fruit loop. A bit hotter than I expected but a great mild finish. Doesn’t linger around. I doubt this bottle will either.

This thing is thick. Body for days. Rich vanilla, cinnamon, woody butter. Would be great for breakfast by the fire with a side of bourbon browns. Tase-tee.
