Tastes

This was my favorite of the three 5 Sentidos bottles at the tasting.

This was a tasting at a liquor store. The Tobala was newly opened, and I thought it had a strong plastic-y taste that negatively affected the overall flavor. Talking to their brand ambassador, we both agreed that it might have been because the bottle was newly opened and perhaps it needed to breathe a bit first.

This was a tasting at a liquor store, the first of three bottles from 5 Sentidos, a brand from a restaurant in Oaxaca. I enjoyed this, it had a nice mineral/vegetal flavor and reminded me why I miss mezcals in Singapore. I added this and the other three 5 Sentidos bottles as "Agave/Other" instead of as a Mezcal because the brand is careful not to call themselves a mezcal and point out that while their drinks are sourced around Oaxaca, they do not conform to the official rules/regulations around mezcal.

Quite good, smooth, a little oaky. Lighter than I expected from an anejo, but still an excellent dram.

This was a really excellent mezcal, in fact I ended up having two glasses of it.
