Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 10, 2020 (edited October 25, 2021)You know that thing when something doesn’t sound like it would be that good, but when you taste it you realize it’s all you’ve ever wanted? Spicy Nilla Wafers, man. Spicy. Nilla. Wafers. This bourbon tastes like smooth spicy Nilla wafers and it’s just an oasis in a bottle. This baby finishes with all the sweet, kind, loving feels you get from classic bourbons. It’s paired delightfully with this Chiefs-Texans game Robsips is watching. Football & Bourbon, that’s what Robsips does. -
Come along with Rob. Close your eyes. Imagine a cool winter’s night beside a roaring bonfire. You’re tending to the fire and let me tell you, it’s roaring. But yet, there’s something calming about it. It’s one of those fires where you know the smell and taste of the smoke will be clinging to your clothes and hair for days and nights to come, but you’re okay with it...and you kinda love it. The smoke and the peat starts to overwhelm you in the best way, and you actually faint into the bonfire! You’re inside the blaze but instead of disaster you’re met with delight. Amidst the smoky, peaty warmth, you’re gliding down a silky smooth slide to the sounds of Kenny G (so smooth) that brings you home. You’ve made it. That’s what this tastes like. The most wonderfully peaty, smooth thing Rob has sipped. It’s a 7/5. Rob would sip again and again and again.

Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt
Blended Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed July 29, 2019 (edited October 19, 2019)A tasty beverage. Rich of honey. It took Rob on quick trip through a beehive, winding him through and around the honeycomb. Where it lost this sipper a little was the lack of peat. Rob’s a peaty man. He likes his scotches peaty. For that, this sipper had to dock points. Still would sip again.
