Its like taking a walk through an apple orchard in the spring. The seeet smell of apple blossoms and fresh crisp green apples. Clean clear and refreshing air. This whiskey smells so good you could wear it out on a date! Forget drinking it — I’d give this whiskey 5 stars just for its nose! The palate is rich with lemon and baking spices: cinnamon, cloves, then it turns a bit salty and transforms through butterscotch into chocolate and coffee. What a ride! The finish… is where all the lingering lemon, chocolate, salt, and coffee come alive.

UPDATE: adding some water brings this whiskey alive. The caramel, apples, and red fruits from the wine dance together in an exceptional and lively combination that is rich and smooth. A must-drink-with-some-water. It elevated my rating. A pretty good whiskey, but I can’t help but want a little more cereal notes to round out the richness from the wine cask. Apples…almost pears in caramel sauce on the nose. The palate is rich and spicy. Almost rum-like with with baking spices vanilla and apple tartness. The finish is short to moderate. There’s red wine tannins and oak that lingers.

A yummy rich and sweet whiskey. Dried apple slices drizzled with caramel and dusted with cinnamon and brown sugar — all that on the nose. The palate is rtich and nearly bitter with flavours of all spice, cloves, and cinnamon. The finish lingers and as the spice flavor fades a bit of mint comes in, but it’s mostly like candied sugars.

This is a warm apple pie topped with caramel and crunchy toffee. A delicious and rich whiskey. Apples, cinnamon, cloves, and caramel on the nose. The palate is rich the finish is fast sweet and toasty. For a rye, I’m surprised at how smooth this one is. Often I find them too peppery and not fruity enpugh. This one is an exception.
