A yummy rich and sweet whiskey. Dried apple slices drizzled with caramel and dusted with cinnamon and brown sugar — all that on the nose. The palate is rtich and nearly bitter with flavours of all spice, cloves, and cinnamon. The finish lingers and as the spice flavor fades a bit of mint comes in, but it’s mostly like candied sugars.

This is a warm apple pie topped with caramel and crunchy toffee. A delicious and rich whiskey. Apples, cinnamon, cloves, and caramel on the nose. The palate is rich the finish is fast sweet and toasty. For a rye, I’m surprised at how smooth this one is. Often I find them too peppery and not fruity enpugh. This one is an exception.

This whiskey is like a smoked candied lemon slice that’s been sprinkled with dried chili flakes. Sweet candies smoked lemon on the nose, the palate. Is peppery and the finish short and tart, with lingering smoke. I do enjoy the peat smoke, but the tartness and lightness of the whiskey aren’t to my liking. I much prefer rich and baking spice flavours. Adding some water make it a bit richer and sweeter.

Reviewed December 6, 2023 (edited December 8, 2023)Fresh baked apple crumble on the nose, the palate is a bit tart with walnuts, cinnamon, and cloves. The finish is a bit strong and lingering with marishino cherries. Its peppery rich and spicy. This whiskey is a delicious apple crumble enjoyed in a leather armchair. -
The charred oak comes through like orchsrd apples and spice. There’s a hint of cherry and slight almonds. The palate is light, sweet honey and water, with slight tartness in the cheeks. The finish brings more honey and pepper. Its warming and mild. This whiskey is like honey drizzled on apple slices with an icewater chaser enjoyed next to a dish of apple crumble.

Charred wood and stewed fruit on the nose with some savory pepper. The palate is strong and sweet like a tart apple cider. The finish is surprisingly delicious! It’s not as spicy as other rye’s but it is like a black tea… …this rye is like sipping on a strong black tea brewed in hot apple cider. Its cozy and interesting. Pleasant and full of flavours to explore. Yummy!

Sweet berries and caramel on the nose. Like a raspberry white chocolate pudding with some cinnamon and cloves baked into the cake. The palate is rich and spicy, with a slight medicininal, iodine, tone. The finish smooth and quick. Leaving the mouth feeling fairly clean. A good whiskey. A little above its price point. It’s a contender for a daily dram / house whiskey. I had to go back and really dig for any peated notes. It’s like picking up the smell of a neighbors BBQ from 3 blocks away… its the faintest of whiffs.

This whiskey is so incredibly light in color. Its a pale straw color. Sweet vanilla and some peat on the nose mixed with… fall apples being churned into cider. Its a cozy warm smell. The palet is sweet anf light. Almost a honey and water. The finish is moderate and slightly like butter with a little brown suger.

Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 16, 2023 (edited October 20, 2023)Cinnamon and cloves stewed apples and pears covered in vanilla caramel on the nose leads to a warming spiced apple cider sweeted with honey on the palate. The finish is slightly bitter oak and peppery cinnamon caramel smothered vanilla icecream. Like the melted stuff on the sides of a hot fudge sunday served in a wooden bowl.
