Sweet smoke swirls around a hint of peppermint and eucalyptus on the nose. The palate is smooth and as it warms up lemon and tart pears begin to come out. The finish is long, a bit peppery but this is an incredibly smooth dram for the percentage. This was complex, lovely, and full of depths that you could play with.

It’s been some time since I’ve enjoyed this favourite of mine. So I thought I’d give it a go again and introduce it to anyone who happens by. It’s still a top pick of mine. Part of the McDougall clan history don’t ‘ya know? Smoked lemons and vanilla on the nose. Its like baking a lemon merangue pie on a peat fire. The palate is sweet cereals and a creamy mouthfeel. The finish is a lingering blast of smoke, sweet and gentle. Smooth. Still yummy!

A delightful boquet of apple blossoms, lilac, and toasted oak. The palate is rich and fruity, like strawberries. The finish is warm and peppery. This is very good! And uncharacteristic for the usually peppery rye. Its very smooth. I would consider adding this to my permanent collection — if I had one!
