Bright notes of citrus, vanilla and cinnamon. Zero smoke. Full body and velvety smooth.

Caramelized sugar and maple syrup on the nose. Medium bodied, sweet and warm on the palate with a touch of cinnamon. Definitely more refined and complex than the 10y

Fuller bodied compared to black label with leather and spices on the nose. On the palate, yes it is more rich and smoky but definitely not over the top. I don’t know what the peak level of this is but it is nowhere close to the peat giants of islay. It’s a smooth whisky nevertheless.

Back to basics with good ol’ Black Label. It’s definitely been at least a decade since I tried this. Quite flat on the nose but surprisingly smooth on the palate with a moderately light body. Moderate peat dominates the flavor profile but no complains there. Some oak as well. At under $30 this is great value for money

Full bodied with a rich and bold aroma. Notes of warm honey, apple, cinnamon, citrus and oak. Silky smooth and zero smoke

Quite an unique member of the Ardbeg clan. Rich fruity notes from the sherry and bourbon are very apparent on the nose and upon tasting. The color is also a lot darker indicating richer flavor. A bit of citrus too. The smoke is there but it is not upfront and lingers in the background. Despite the high proof it is very smooth.

Very nice balance and a new favorite of mine among peated scotches. A moderate amount of peat and good amount of complexity with a clean finish

It is a peat bomb alright but boy is it silky smooth! By far the palest color I have seen, which is very deceiving. Great value for money and a more palatable abv relative to its Corryvreckan sibling. Dare I say, beneath the peat hides a gentle sweetness. Definitely a keeper

Smooth and lightly peaked with some sweetness and oak. Probably the least amount of peak among the other islay malts I’ve tasted

First lowland whiskey! Viscous and sweet like honey with cinnamon. Easy drinking
