Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 27, 2021Caramelized sugar and maple syrup on the nose. Medium bodied, sweet and warm on the palate with a touch of cinnamon. Definitely more refined and complex than the 10y -
Back to basics with good ol’ Black Label. It’s definitely been at least a decade since I tried this. Quite flat on the nose but surprisingly smooth on the palate with a moderately light body. Moderate peat dominates the flavor profile but no complains there. Some oak as well. At under $30 this is great value for money

Macallan Double Cask 12 Year
Single Malt — Highland, Scotland
Reviewed March 9, 2021 (edited May 22, 2021)Full bodied with a rich and bold aroma. Notes of warm honey, apple, cinnamon, citrus and oak. Silky smooth and zero smoke -
Quite an unique member of the Ardbeg clan. Rich fruity notes from the sherry and bourbon are very apparent on the nose and upon tasting. The color is also a lot darker indicating richer flavor. A bit of citrus too. The smoke is there but it is not upfront and lingers in the background. Despite the high proof it is very smooth.
