Aberlour 12 Year Non Chill-Filtered
Single Malt — Highland, Scotland
Reviewed November 27, 2017 (edited February 15, 2018)Maybe I got a bad bottle. Terrible. Not much on the nose. Wood and maybe a little fruit. Taste is oaky, with a little spice underneath and some raisins. The fruit and spice are more clear after water is added. Astringency is less after water as well. Not worth the price IMO. -
3.5. Sampled neat. Nose of alcohol and sweet tones of dried fruit. Tastes quite fruity, Hints of raisins and a fresh tin of pipe tobacco. Quite smooth and prefer this to Glenmorangie Original after side by side tasting. Neither is smoky or peaty that my novice scotch tasting palate can pick out, but this is far smoother.
