Peach notes throughout. On the nose similar to, but not quite a cognac (somewhat reminiscent of Moscato wine). Palate is smooth and delicate. The finish brings a surprise of spice and alcohol burn, but not enough to obscure the sweetness or the peach note.

Sweet and tart on the nose, puts me in mind of strawberry rhubarb pie. The palate is sweet and earthy malt barley. The finish reclaims the slightly tart notes like the bits of pie filling that oozed out in the oven and toasted on the edge of the pan.

2.75 Muted sherry nose. Slightly bitter and astringent on the palate. Still noticeably Scotch, but with dry red wine notes especially on the finish.

3.5 Nose is slight pear note and maybe a hint of lemon. Palate is simple but nice. Smooth buttery mouthfeel. Finish becomes slightly earthy.

UFS in Peoria has a fantastic version of this. A drop of water opens this up to a world of complexity. Subtle spices, sweetness, and fruit notes run under the oaky goodness. Smells amazing, tastes good, and nice finish. The full trifecta.

For all the hype I was disappointed. This was a good whisky, but I would never spend the $100 it is in my region. Notes of smoke a barbecue short ribs.

What did I do to myself? It smells awful. I don't think heavy peat is for me. Tastes alright, but not coming back to that for a while.
