Glen Scotia 15 Year
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed January 16, 2019 (edited April 18, 2019)Beautiful marriage of oak, vanilla, slight sherry and maritime influences. One touch smoother and gentler than its famous neighbor, Springbank, and just as complex. A faint peat note way in the background. Exquisite. -
Laphroaig Triple Wood
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed January 15, 2019 (edited January 16, 2019)Compared to the 10 year, adds an additional layer of cask influence (oak for sure) and overall complexity. Retains the strong, medicinal peatiness that you would expect from Laphroaig. A beast. -
Springbank 10 Year
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed January 2, 2019 (edited January 16, 2019)Briny. Salty, with fruit coming forward w/ water. A trace of peat. Many layers to unwrap. Brilliantly challenging.
