This is so unbelievably smooth, 18 years are well worth the wait. I barely get any alcohol kickback from this and just fully enjoy the appley sweet deliciousness. Clearly outside my normal price range, was given this as a birthday gift and yummers it’s clearly worth the price tag for an occasional treat.

Macallan Double Cask 12 Year
Single Malt — Highland, Scotland
Reviewed October 7, 2021 (edited December 26, 2021)This is good! Def enjoyable and smooth. I find myself usually gravitating towards Islay’s and some smoke, so for my current palate and preferences this is in the 4 star range. Def a solid birthday gift though and it’s actually nice to have something other than just an Islay to swap between for variety 🥳🥳🥳 -
I’ve been meaning to give this a proper try for a long time, and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. It’s def got more depth and flavour vs. my go to Ardbeg 10, which is great depending on my mood. This is bomb just straight, and will def be in the rotation more for the price point 🤙🤙🤙55.0 USD per Bottle

This is awesome. I tried this once a long time ago, and remember enjoying it. For 46% with a splash of water, this is super smooth. It’s still slightly light on the peat for my palate, but not really in a bad way. All in all it’s def tasty, I just seem to have an affinity for the $60 Ardbeg 10’s value / taste profile.80.0 USD per Bottle

I would have given this a 4, until I saw it’s style listed as a peated single malt haha. This is delicious, and super smooth. I def like it a lot, but if I had purchased it hoping for a peated single malt instead of receiving it as a gift I think I’d be slightly more upset given the price point haha. Yeah, def super smooth. Super delicious. Well rounded and I’ve been enjoying it very much. Just for a peated whisk I usually gravitate towards something a little heavier on the smoke, and this is more on the subtle end for my palate. I’ve also got the Talisker 10 right now, and have to give a slight edge to that bad boy.

This is very super tasty for sure. It’s exactly what I remember / have heard it described as. It’s a well balanced Islay that’s super smooth and nicely hits on all the flavours you’d expect. For me, $100 is getting a bit expensive, so it loses some value points. But it’s more “approachable” than my fav $60 Ardbeg. Awesome little gift / splurge though 🥳🥳🥳

This is really tasty! It’s much more “mellow” (in a still peaty and delicious way) and well rounded vs. the more “aggressive” 10 year. I’d give this a 4.5 on taste, but a 4 on value as the ~$80 price tag starts to get into slightly expensive territory for this guy as a regular “go-to”. Bought it as a treat for myself though, and I can see why it’s so popular. I can see myself buying the 10 year more frequently though because it’s more smoky and aggressive, and $60 is a bit easier price point.80.0 USD per BottleBevMo!

This is so damn tasty, I really like this a lot. I’m by no means an Islay expert, but have a fairly developed palate / have been around the block. This just really speaks to me though, and at the price point it’s so good. It was also the first smokey / peaty whiskey I had ever tried back 6 years ago or so, so it kinda has a special place in my heart due to changing my views on whiskey / introducing me to a whole new world. It’s been almost 5 years or so since I’ve had it, but mmmm welcome back friend ❤️ I’m usually an on the rocks kinda guy, but this is just so potent that it neeeeeds to be enjoyed neat60.0 USD per Bottle
