Tullibardine 225 Sauternes Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 25, 2018 (edited February 21, 2021)Mind blown! This amazing bottle is filled with subtlety. A nose kicked off by red velvet cake blossoming into a ever so subtle nuttiness and closing with the endowed sauterne finish. There’s not real separation between the various noses and it absolutely flows so smoothly. The first sip is a pleasant warmth, like you have the first time you see your best friend from childhood. A bit of fruit and then caramels that roll into a oak and then the sauterne. This made me sit down and re nose and re taste to make sure I wasn’t imagining the experience. A beautiful bottle. -
Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 24, 2018 (edited July 25, 2018)The nose starts off with heavy fruit. Ripe banana bowls you over almost immediately, but in a way that you remember the smell of your mom’s home cooked banana bread. Adding in wafting vanilla and a slight milk chocolate close. On the tongue, the fruit is consistent with the nose and silkily slips into its namesake tasting like the leaf of a cigar that you’ve held in your mouth too long before you light it. An anticipated oloroso finish that closes with a touch of ash that doesn’t show up until you’ve let the whole sip dissipate. -
Edradour 10 Year The Distillery Edition
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 22, 2018 (edited February 13, 2022)Simple and smooth. Perfect for a drink after a long day at work. Vanilla with several floral notes. A touch of ripe banana and strawberries. Extremely light oloroso, but enough to add a touch of complexity on the back end. God I love this bottle.65.0 USD per Bottle
