Nose: maple and earthy Taste: surprises you with thick creamy sweetness and mouth feel, followed by strong alcohol and spice. Leaves mouth feeling like its been coated with something the way buttered popcorn does.

Nose: typical scotch malt, honey, and smoke. Not just peat but also some actual wood smoke. Taste: first is the peat smoke followed by medium sweetness. Far more peat flavor than Johnny Walker black. Slightly more than highland park 12 but with less of the fruitiness than Highland. Less mid palate heat than Highland 12. At $18.99 a bottle it may supplant JW black and Highland from my bar. Don’t let the price fool you. Realize this is a Beam Suntory product.

Nose: vanilla, sweet, and a little grape. Taste: sweet, floral, light fruity taste. A little bit of heat but otherwise a light whiskey all around. To me it’s basically like a scotch with half the richness.

Nose: sweet over ripe fruit, rich, acetone. Rather light. Didn’t give an ethanol burn. Taste: sweet vanilla spice and oak. Very rich. Very long nutty finish. For me a bit of ice brought out the wood tannins and ethanol fumes

Nose: sweet taffy all spice and vanilla. I got none of the leather or tobacco others noted. Taste: creamy mouthfeel, spices and vanilla. A little ice opened up some earthy scent and peanut brittle flavor $24.99 750ml

Nose honey and peach Taste: sweet, honey and fruit. Warmth in the finish still smooth and easy. Actually reminds me if monkey shoulder but less rich and with more heat than the monkey.
