Glen Moray 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed May 30, 2015 (edited September 18, 2016)71. Too much of a burn. Taste is bearable, but I'll take Glenlevit over this (and that says a lot). Wouldn't spend my money on this. This will give you heartburn. -
Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 1, 2014 (edited May 20, 2017)2017 San Francisco World Spirit Competition Award Winner ??. Tried this tonite but can't rate it. Waitress served it on the rocks. I reminded her it was to be neat. Came back and obviously the bartender just strained it into another glass. Bartender denied it but it was so watered down. Such a letdown because was looking forward to trying this one. -
Glenlivet 12 Year Double Oak
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 23, 2014 (edited September 18, 2016)77. So I'm at Chili's in Orange, Tx...therefore limited selection in the city and at the restaurant. Ordered what they had and realized I've not reviewed this one. A watered down scotch for my current palate. No peat. Slight pepper at the tip of my tongue. Goes down easy. Also really has no nose to it. Am I turning into a scotch snob??? -
Balvenie Single Barrel 15 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed September 9, 2014 (edited April 3, 2015)87. Had 3 drams this evening at Flemings Steakhouse. A tasty surprise. Nose was full of sugary honey. Sweet and fruity for sure, but just the right amount of peppery spice to make it distinctive among the others (like Glenmorangie 18). Perfect scotch for a new drinker.
