Tastes

This is the scotch that started my love of all whiskey. Nose is a medium smoke, followed by malt. Palate is an enjoyable mix of Smoke and Malt with a layer of some complexity I have yet to put a finger on, spicy fruit perhaps? Finish for me is oddly a smoke ramp followed by a touch of mint which cuts the traditional spiky smoke finishes of other Islays. I love it, but for the price I think there are more interesting scotches to be had. That said, I will always have a bottle in my bar for special night caps or for someone will to explore Islay for the first time.

Just boring to me, rounded but incomplete to my pallet. Would I call it bad? God no, but don’t walk into this scotch looking for a puzzle

Softer peat in my opinion, heavy vanilla.

To me, this was an incredible journey in a glass. Floral, fruits, oak, and pepper arranged in a wonderful package. Highly recommend
