Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey
Flavored Whiskey — USA
Reviewed December 21, 2019 (edited April 8, 2020)Look, don't go into this expecting anything fancy and you'll have a good time. It's like a Fast and the Furious movie. It's not here to change your life, just give you a good time. It's got a great chocolate-peanut butter smell on the nose and almost descends into a caramel popcorn taste. Very good whiskey. -
Having just tried the Caskmates IPA, I didn't have high hopes for this. BOY, WAS I WRONG. It has such a nice rich chocolate-cream on the nose that it made normal Jameson smell like relatively nothing when I went back for a comparison. The mouthfeel is a lot heavier and a lot more satisfying in my opinion. The taste carries those rich chocolatey notes into your mouth before having a nice black pepper finish that doesn't seem to last long enough. Very good whiskey.

Comparing this to normal Jameson, the hops flavor is definitely very prominent. There's still a sweet floral-lemony note to the nose, but it seems to be overpowered by the hops, same with the taste, a lot more bitter than normal James. I'm sure for a hop-head, this would be a fantastic whiskey but not for me.

Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 20, 2019 (edited December 21, 2019)Really lovely nose on this one. Reminiscent of a bakery at Christmas time with the different spices. The spice hits hard when I first tasted it, but it eventually calmed into some very nice dessert flavors and a caramel finish -
Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt
Blended Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 15, 2019 (edited December 23, 2019)A really nice oaky and vanilla nose welcomes you to this chocolate-orangey scotch that's more friendly and warm than a hug from a long-lost family member. A little water opens up a few of the harsher wood and orange notes but it's hard to make this anything but the friendliest scotch around.
