the best thing to say about it is that it's surprisingly smooth for a 4 year. the nose was slightly grassy and fruity, but only hints. palate was more of the same - pretty boring overall

cloyingly sweet, vanilla with a little bit of cinnamon on the nose. the taste is more vanilla with a spicy finish. not very complex or interesting in the nose or palate

Oaky, sweet, vanilla. Very complex. Had this on a cruise, and my bartender gave it to us as part of a pappy van winkle flight. Unfortunately, I didn't make detailed tasting notes, so I'm doing this based off of memory. Get this if you can!

The best bourbon I've tasted in the $50-65 range

Sweet nose, slight oak, slight spice. Hints of green apple. Easy drinking, but not complex. Not bad, but I prefer more complexity and interesting flavors for the price.

Rich, sweet nose. The best comparison I could think of is honey butter or butterscotch, where the sweetness was backed by a deep richness. The rich sweetness was backed by a very slight smoky note and a slight fruity note. The palate had a sweet fruity taste at the very beginning, reminiscent of figs. The fruit lingered at the front of the tongue. The whiskey then gave way to a low to medium spiciness, and a wonderful oakiness. This oakiness filled the mouth and was long on the finish. It tasted like the inside of a barrel in the best way - rich, oaky, and sweet. Yet, it was not overpowering. It was very pleasant. The mouth feel was full and oily. Both mouthwatering and mouthcoating. Finish was exceptionally smooth. Comparable only to the pappy 20 and the George t stagg fall 2013 in quality for me.

Honey, fruits, and chocolate on the nose. Sweet and creamy on the palate, which gives way to a spicy and dry finish. It's very smooth, yet spicy, which gives a cool effect.
