Tastes

Cherry candies and rye on the nose, very mild. The taste is less sweet, at first peppery and slight menthol on the finish. This is a fairly simple smooth whisky. Ice brings sweetness forward.

Very sweet nose, maple syrup and dried figs. Sweetness continues on the pallet, no burn. Lacks depth of flavors.

2018, batch 9, 114.9 proof. I get candied apples on the nose. This has a unique flavor. Starts spicy but goes smooth, with a little popcorn flavor, then finishes very quickly with the burn in the back of your throat which is the only indication you get of the proof. Not sweet at all and slightly oily.

Sweet candy corn nose. Complex flavor profile, spicy and sweet. A nice burnt toast flavor at the far tail end. My favorite of the 2018 line up.

Classic Booker's oaky caramel on the nose. Pretty tame on the pallet for Booker's, not spicy. Good overall, but not at the top of my Booker's list.

I get cloves and fruit and a hint of pepper on the nose. Smooth and sweet compared to most ryes. The cloves continue (a little too prominently) when you taste it and finishes with prunes and then apricots. Not something you would drink all night, but distinctive so a good sampler for comparison.

Wow, this bourbon is packed. The nose is high octane candy corn. It hits the back of your palate with pepper and quickly turns to peanut brittle. The flavors linger and turn to light apple. This one is my favorite Bookers.

Nose is a little bit piney. The high alcohol content prevents you from lingering. The taste is interesting, it starts out spicy but quickly moves to doughy and sweet and finishes with pepper.

This whiskey was very disappointing. Odd, syrupy flavor, not pleasant.

I bought this on a trip to Kentucky for the sole reason it was not available out of the state and it was inexpensive. It is actually quite good. Not sweet, but spicy, a little piney on the finish. Very enjoyable.
