Old Bardstown Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed December 16, 2018 (edited September 6, 2020)I bought this on a trip to Kentucky for the sole reason it was not available out of the state and it was inexpensive. It is actually quite good. Not sweet, but spicy, a little piney on the finish. Very enjoyable.20.0 USD per Bottle -
High sweet corn content on the nose. Very mild, so much so, the spice and heat you get on the first sip will surprise you. But the sweetness is there with it. Candy corn lingers long on the finish. Still very much Maker's Mark. A definite step up from the Maker's I've called my "go to" bourbon for 28 years. This is so under-appreciated, truly delicious.

Booker's Bourbon Batch 2017-03 "Front Porch Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed December 16, 2018 (edited January 18, 2020)I haven't seen this one for sale in stores. Had it while waiting for a table at McCormick and Schmicks in Kansas City one night. Maybe the most aromatic Bookers I've come across. Nice vanilla and spice flavor and smooth but short finish. Very good. -
Maker's Mark Private Select Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 15, 2018 (edited February 9, 2019)Old Town Liquor, Louisville, KY, 6 seared french cuvee, 2 roasted french mocha, 2 toasted french spice. 110 proof Smokey, sweet and fruity on the nose. Oily feel in the mouth. Very smoky and spicy at first fading to slightly yeasty and a distinct coffee candy on the finish. I haven't been a big fan of Makers 46 and other Private Select versions I've tried have been good but not great. This one stood out. Much more complex than standard Maker's. I really like this bourbon. Unfortunately, Old Town sold out of this and has not made more. I look forward to their next selection.
