Interesting, I don't read this the same as most of the other reviews. On the nose I get straight on orange peel. The palate is more orange and slight caramel. If it was sweeter, you could add a drop of bitters and it would be an old fashioned. Fairly thin and a short finish, but does have a little heat. A nice whiskey, not a great whiskey. It is a nice one off flavor profile

Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A121
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 5, 2022 (edited September 8, 2022)Been sitting on this one for a year and a half. Got lost in my unopened bottle cabinet. Finally opened it and was pleasantly surprised. Nose is french toast, apple butter, nutmeg and a hint of clove. Alcohol fills the nostrils as well. The palate follows through and is very sweet. I get apples, allspice, powdered sugar, cookie dough, and maybe some almond paste. The finish brings on strong spice which lingers. Ice eases the edges on the spices and let's the fruit come through. A very nice version, better than most. -
Jack Daniel's Triple Mash
Blended American Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed July 3, 2022 (edited July 17, 2022)Jack Daniels is what brought me into the whiskey world over 30 years ago, but I quickly moved on opting for higher proofs and lower corn in the mash and haven't had any in a lot of years. When I saw they've been branching out more I finally decided to try this one. The nose is banana bread with hints of paint and pine. The palate shows all the whiskies in the blend. The malt comes through strong with yeast and grape. Rye brings spice and pepper. The JD banana flavor lingers in the background. Quick finish. Fairly thin and ice makes it more so. Pretty tame even for 100 proof. Overall, way more interesting than standard JD. Not something I'd drink everyday or even all night, but an interesting choice for tastings with friends. -
Four Roses Private Selection Single Barrel Barrel Strength (OESF)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 27, 2022KC Area Hyvee Spring 2022 Pick, 10 yr 11 mo, 121 proof Nose is quite sweet with floral, cream of tartar, and rosemary notes. The palate is very interesting. At first herbaceous, as might be expected (F) with a sweet note. A touch of caramel as the herbaceousness fades, and pepper comes on strong toward the end. The finish is distinctly savory, though. Adding water was a negative, the sweetness was gone and left an ununified mishmash of various herbs and pepper. -
Whiskey Row Bottled In Bond
Bourbon — Crestwood, KY, USA, USA
Reviewed March 12, 2022 (edited July 29, 2022)Light, sweet nose, slightly fruity and a touch of cinnamon. Palate brings black pepper into the mix. Not much on the finish. Ice eases the pepper and let's it linger longer. Very nice for a four year old whiskey. Strong oak undertones. -

Little Book Chapter 3: The Road Home
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed February 11, 2022Nose is sweet and fruity, slightly artificial. Reminds me of tutti frutti ice cream and cotton candy. Palate has spice and straight sweetness. Holds then fades quickly. Little finish. Not spectacular. -
Decided to rate this bourbon again after first sitting with it a few years ago This time around I get a big hit of butterscotch on the nose. The palate is straight up candy popcorn balls followed by black pepper. If you look for it you get candied cherries as well. The finish has heat and anise and fades nicely. The only thing I can say against it is that it isn't vary complex or layered. Honest to God, I don't know why more people don't love this stuff. To each their own. I know that some day soon this will be MGP product and will probably be good, but not the same. Until then, I'm going to enjoy having something that I think is really enjoyable but just hasn't made the scene.
