Booker's Bourbon Batch 2022-03 "Kentucky Tea Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed October 18, 2023 (edited October 20, 2023)Surprising lack of legs in the glass. Beautiful nose has stewed appls, and spices of cardamon, coriander, and cream of tartar. The palate hits straight on. Hot spice and bitter. A little melted ice brings the peanut forward and the spice gets stronger but the dry bittetness persists. Finish brings leather, hay, and pepper. -
Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A123
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 2, 2023 (edited October 20, 2023)Little legs, but the glass stays well coated after a twirl. Very nice butterscotch nose. Palate has apple, caramel, and hot cinnamon. Finish starts slow, but brings on bitter chocolate with hot pepper spice. This is nice, but not great.65.0 USD per Bottle -
Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch C923
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 2, 2023 (edited October 20, 2023)Little to no legs when swirled in the glass. Nose brings fresh apple, leather and cinnamon. The palate is a spice bomb, cinnamon and pepper, no fuit to be found. Iget a hint of coconut and bitter chocolate. Leaves the rim of the tongue tingling. The finish is pretty hot, red pepper flakes maybe. Good for high prrof lovers, but not there best offering, not even the best of the year.65.0 USD per Bottle -
Strong nose, caramel and orange peel. Palate hits sweet and somewhat hot, turning to carameled apples. I get a hint of curaçao in the background. As the flavor fades, I taste toasted marshmallow, but not exceptionally oaky or smoky. The flavors do linger a while, but the finish ends in a bit of a whimper. Not very complex, but tasty nonetheless. I have to think that more time in the finishing barrels and/or less of the TN whiskey would have let more interesting flavors come through.75.0 USD per Bottle

Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B523
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 19, 2023 (edited June 5, 2023)Nice legs, medium amber color. Nose leads with sweet bread, apple, and cardamom with a little black pepper in the background. Palate is sweet with a touch of fruit and spearmint with pepper lingering at the end. Well balanced, but not outstanding. A good whiskey to introduce someone to barrel proofs. -
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B523
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 19, 2023 (edited June 6, 2023)No legs in the glass to speak of. Deep amber color. Nose is sweet and full of cinnamon with a touch of chocolate and nut bread. The whiskey explodes onto the palate as a spice bomb. Bitter chocolate follows and licorice lingers on the middle of the tongue. Somewhere in there, candied apple makes the scene. A big long chest hug ends the experience, more like a whiskey in the 130 proof range. Not a whiskey for beginners. Adding ice or water rounds out both the nose and palate, lengthening the finish and leaving it less dry and with much less heat. Cinnamon sits on the tongue forever. The B's are usually my least favorite of the series every year, but this bourbon brings it.70.0 USD per Bottle
