Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 27, 2017 (edited March 24, 2021)Heavy oak on the nose with hints of coconut or pineapple. Short burn at the top of the throat. Odd flavor profile that doesn't sit well with me. -
Johnnie Walker Blenders' Batch Wine Cask Blend
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed October 27, 2017 (edited November 25, 2017)Heavy sweet red wine on the nose. Long burn on the back of the throat without ice. Not as fruity taste as on the nose. Ice balances the burn but makes it very sweet. -
Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 20, 2017 (edited October 22, 2017)$60 - smell of orange peel with light floral aspects. Mild on the taste buds. Weak aftertaste with slow burn deep on the throat. Easy drinking but almost too much so. Complexity is there but not too robust. Good as an everyday drink.
