Tastes

Definitely Balcones in the nose and taste. Wood, malt, cinnamon and vanilla on the nose. Syrup sweetness on the palate with some red hots on the finish. Fun whiskey, but I do not enjoy this one as much as some of Balcones other whiskeys.

Some rye and light oak on the nose. Nose is fairly muted. Taste is rye spice, oak, vanilla. Some holiday spice in the taste. High corn for rye, so close to a high rye bourbon in profile. Spiciness lingers in the finish. Enjoyable sipping rye.

Honey on the nose. Irish whiskey nose with a little more oak. On the palate, wood, honey, vanilla. Again, reminds of a young Irish whiskey. Smooth. Short finish. Enjoyable.

Port wine sweetness that lingers. The port is dominant on nose to me as well. Smooth and fruity. Really enjoy this one. Makes a great after dinner pour.
