Tastes

Complex. Apple, vanilla, rye bread, caramel, savory spice, a little minerally. Oily. Long finish.

Rich and complex. Baked apple, caramel, vanilla, honey, leather, baling spices.

Caramel, milk chocolate, juicy fruit gum, a little rye spice, vanilla.

Enjoyable American single malt. Smoky peat, caramel, brown sugar, pear. Complex. Balanced.

77% corn, 13% rye, 10% malted barley. Vanilla, caramel, oak, oily texture, dried fruit, marshmallow. Really enjoyable and wish I could find it more often.

Tasted and purchased at the distillery in Waco last summer. Aged 4 years and 1 month. Non-chill filtered. This single malt is the distillation of an unpeated malt mash that was run after the diatillation of a heavily peated single malt in a copper pot still. I enjoyed this a lot. Definitely get a lot of funk, which some may not enjoy. There is peach, citrus, pear, honey, with a light peat smokiness lingering in the background. Balanced and really complex.

There was some steange funk when I first opened the bottle that I was not fond of. After a fair amount of time in the open bottle, the funk disappeared and this became enjoyable. Caramel, vanilla, dill, rye bread, spice, sweet brown sugar. A little thick and oily.

Total Wine Pick. Rich bourbon. Lots of caramel, with cherry, brown sugar, pecan, honey, sweet bread, ethanol. Spice and cinnamon. Full proof is noticeable in the heat, but balance is present. This was delicious and was a good value.
