Just a lovely whiskey. The Bushmills Casks add a vanilla shortbread note near the finish. Way better than I expected!

I don’t really enjoy peated whiskey. So the fact I really like The Dark Silkie blew my mind! A great example of peated Irish Whiskey! It has the classic Irish notes but with an earthy peat note added. The smoke doesn’t overwhelm, just a really nice whiskey for the price!

Really nice pour for the price. It does a great job of capturing the smooth berry flavor of a nice Amarone. Amarone is an expensive wine , I think it could’ve been left in the wine cask a little longer. For a 5 year old whiskey, it’s a really good one!

Butterscotch bomb! I get big caramel and butterscotch notes with Gaia. It’s a young whiskey, you have to let it breathe a long time. Wish they would get some more age on their whiskey, you can taste the youth but Gaia is the best so far in my opinion.

Never been a big Redbreast fan or cask strength fan, this converted me to both! The nose has a lot of cherry and dark fruit until you add ice. Then I get more delicate notes, almost like honeysuckle. The palate is sweet with honey and classic shortbread cookie with a slight woody finish. Absolutely love this one!

My husband’s favorite peated Irish whiskey! Not available outside of Ireland. The nose has lemon, pear and an earthy herbal tone. The flavor has notes of orchard fruit, clove, hazelnut with a pronounced smoky peat finish.

My husband enjoys BlackPitts quite a bit. The nose is lighter than a lot of peated whiskey. The taste has a lot of light fruit and honeysuckle with an earthy peat finish. It’s much lighter than Connemara and the most balanced peated Irish whiskey behind WD O’Connell’s Bill Phil.

Worth the wait! On the nose I get a lot of pineapple and a little vanilla, almost like a marzipan. The taste I get honey, spice and black pepper notes with a woody finish. It finishes hot like expected at Cask Strength but the flavor is really delicious! My only complaint is I’d love a bit more fruit notes in the Taste profile. The amount of spice and pepper is very strong if pouring this neat.

One of the smoothest single pot still whiskey’s I’ve ever had. The nose is strawberry twizzlers but the tasting notes are milk chocolate and vanilla and cinnamon spice with a touch of oak. Delicious!

We went outside the box to try a different whiskey. Not a fan. I like the sweetness of the Madeira but it’s a whiskey that tastes weird. It’s not like Scotch and it’s not like Irish, it has a funky taste that I can’t pinpoint.
