Heavy brine and citrus on the nose. The first pour is salty with notes of lemon or lime custard. As the whiskey is oxygenated the malty notes start to become more pronounced. Very different offering in Irish whiskey!

Delicious dram from Tyrconnell! The nose I get floral notes and peach and honeysuckle. The tasting notes I get honey and spice and orange/peach with a hint of woodiness. It’s a really easy drinking whiskey and very tasty!

Outstanding pour! The nose is fresh mown grass, apple, and a slight cedar. The taste has apple and pear with vanilla and ginger and finishes with a hearty woodiness. Like walking in an orchard on a fall day. Phenomenal!

My husband’s new favorite whiskey! The nose is peaty with vanilla and fresh apple. Tasting notes are buttery shortbread and an almost grassy flavor. The peatiness is present but not overwhelming. Really balanced whiskey!

I thought I’d like this more than the reviews. Nope. Tastes really muddled, like a bunch of whiskey was thrown together with no tasting done. Tasting notes were the usual shortbread cookie and a weird amount of spice. It’s fine for cocktails but not something I’d have a dram of over ice.

Great unique whiskey! Color is almost dark pink, the nose is strong with the Tawny Port flavor. I was expecting it to overwhelm on the palate but it’s surprisingly well balanced! Notes of dark fruit are joined by vanilla and spice and shortbread. The perfect whiskey for the winter holidays, the first double vatted Irish Whiskey in 50 years, it’s a bargain

Tree #2, I get coffee and vanilla and apple on the nose. The palate is chocolate, honey and spice with a finish of oak. Exceptional!

Didn’t taste much fruit, has vanilla notes and slightly peat smokiness. A richer spicier whiskey

It’s sweet, like hard candy or a Werther’s original. But there’s also some buttery biscuit flavor and just a small amount of spice. Exceptional whiskey from Mitchell & Son!

Notes remind me of burnt toffee...creamy, smoky, caramel. Reminds me of Jameson Black Barrel but it’s sweeter and the smokiness from the bourbon barrel is better balanced.
