The nose is the most classic bourbon nose I think I’ve ever smelt. It’s brown sugar and toasted caramel and cinnamon and fresh leather with a wisp of smoke. It tastes like it has some proof to it, but with a ton of flavor and complexity. Worn leather and a bit of must like I’m standing in a rickhouse. There’s a backbone of caramelized sugars and the smoke left over from putting a candle out. A tiny bit of spice on the front does not linger past the throat, and it finishes shockingly smooth. Medium long flavor on the finish with most of the smoke and leather shining through. This is a perfect example of what bourbon should be. Really love this.

Nose is light and sweet, with a similar maple sweetness as the gentleman jack but with addition of some dark fruit notes. There’s a feint amount of raw corn as well. The palate is a lot less sweet than I expected, with rye spice dominating most of the drink. There’s some strong notes of banana and mint and the finish is quite dry. The spice lingers for a bit but the flavor does not. Overall I think I prefer the gentlemen jack, especially at the price point but I’m glad I got to try this.

Nose is raw and sweet and a bit medicinal with notes of heavy corn. Reminiscent of mellow corn nose. The spirit tastes light and a bit thin but with more of that grainy corn flavor. Decently sweet, with a medium spice it has some good but robust flavor to it. Short finish and low proof keeps this from being a high tier whiskey.

Parker's Heritage Heavy Char Rye Whiskey 8 Year
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 12, 2020 (edited May 31, 2020)Light sweetness on the nose, with heavy notes of oak, char and dark fruits. Smells somewhat medicinal. Almost no sweetness on the palate, heavy wood spice character. Lot of spice on the front of the tongue, and more char on the finish. The texture is decently light and a bit oily. Overall a really interesting expression but not a bottle I would seek out again. -
The nose is delightful. Super soft and delicate for 125 proof. Light caramel sweetness with a bit of floral ness and campfire smoke. There is so much going on on the palate. The sweetness lightens up even more, fresh tobacco, and an herbal spice wrestles with the caramel, in a very beautiful way. It lingers for about a minute, and keeps you coming back for more. Adding a few drops of water goes a long way as well.

A very wheaty/bready honey sweetness on the nose. It smells bright and floral. Bright fruits on the palate (lots of apple, pear and a tiny bit of orange) with a bit of malt and spice on the finish. The only detractor is the texture, which is a bit thin. Very beautiful dram, that is light and easy to drink, with a decent amount of complexity.
