Auchentoshan 12 Year
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed April 8, 2016 (edited September 21, 2019)I've noticed a few people say it's not overly complex, but that's ok because I'm not an overly complex guy. I find this feel quite full and creamy. Fairly malty to start, with a bit of bite( just enough). The the fruity sherry influence shows itself on the fantastic smooth finish. -
Bundaberg Master Distillers' Collection Small Batch Rum
Gold Rum — Queensland, Australia
Reviewed February 15, 2016 (edited April 15, 2016)69 seems a little harsh, I definitely didn't taste any acetone. Smells like rum, vanilla, caramel and sugars. When you taste it you can definitely taste the brandy influence( the bottle says it was finished in a mix of brandy & cognac casks). It's very fruity to start with, vanilla comes in with a touch of oak, and it leaves your mouth tingling, ready for another sip. There is another version of this, one that is 8 yr old rum finished in port casks. It is much darker, I haven't tasted it yet, but it smells quite nice -
Glenfiddich 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 31, 2016 (edited April 24, 2018)When I started drinking scotch I'd only had glenlivet, but I think I prefer glenfiddichs products more now. This one is more fruity, and smoother. I only had a 50ml bottle, but I will definitely get a full size one -
Chivas Regal 18 Year Gold Signature
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed January 31, 2016 (edited April 24, 2018)I payed $20 for a gift pack with a 200ml bottle of 12yr & 18yr. Nice fruit and spices to start off with, but it finished very dry, and bitter. I probably wouldn't buy a full bottle
