Tastes

The nose is almonds, and sage. More nuts, fruits, sweetness, sherry, bourbon, and quite rich with slight wood on the palate. The finish is warm, long, sweet, and spicy.

The nose is vanilla, sweet, caramel, pears, and alcohol. The palate is smooth, spicy, cloves, sweet, zesty, vanilla, fruity, (light fruits, pear, apple, white grape), tobacco, over-ripe banana. The finish is sweet, spicy, smooth, caramel, leather, and medium long. Definite corn liquor sweetness, bourbon notes.

The nose is very mild, sweet, floral hints. Smooth, slightly peaty, and slightly smokey. I get vanilla, almonds, mild walnut, some dark fruits, as in dates or figs. There's a bit of zest, spice, and citrus as well. The finish is medium long, and sweet. This is by far, my favorite Johnnie Walker scotch. Very drinkable, but for a blended whisky, fairly expensive. For the money, I'll drink single malt from Orkney.

The nose is sweet with dark fruits, banana bread, and caramel. The palate is rye spice, corn sweet. Some nice oak, there's more bourbon sweet than spice, dark fruits, caramel candy, and red licorice. The finish is spicy, sweet, warm, and moderately long. Overall quite smooth. Water ups the finish heat.

Brine, vanilla, maple syrup, and a bit of chemical on the nose. Hard candy, peat, brine, light fruits (apple, pear), sweet, and rich on the palate. The finish is warm, briney, sweet, and short.

The nose is mild, with honey, dark fruits, and Sherry. More of the same on the palete, mild woodiness, a slight cream flavour, caramel and candy. The finish is moderately long and slightly peppery, but quite smooth. This might not be the most complex whiskey, but at this price point it's amazing. Great for sipping.

The nose is peaty, with some candy, plastic, and brine. On the palate it is very smokey, lots of peat, Band-Aids, cigar tobacco, salt, light fruits, and a bit sour. The finish lingers, sour salty and peaty. This is a big bold Islay whisky, quite enjoyable, quite smooth.

The nose is pears, unripe apples, sweetness. The palate is more pears, sweet apples, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and spicy. The finish is long, smooth, and spicy, with a mild heat.

It smells like pumpkin pie and carrot cake run through a blender. The flavor is similar, loads of cinnamon ginger, cloves, allspice, pumpkin, and quite warming. It's thick and creamy, and has a Christmas cake with rum flavor. Finish is quite hot, with a drying spice flavor, like perhaps you've had cinnamon powder off the spoon.
