Balvenie Portwood 21 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed March 20, 2021 (edited September 21, 2021)This might be my new favorite scotch Balvenie Portwood 21 Year is flawless I know this is Portwood, but i pick up lots of Sherry in the nose pallet and finish. It is so very well rounded, as well as complex. Lots of fruity sweetness It leaves nothing out including a huge smile as one sips this gem I never give a 5 to anything i have rated but this pour might warrant it -
Nose complex, oak, sweetness, vanilla, spice... Pallet wow maybe not hype a lot of what's picked up on the nose carries through onto the palate full mouth Finish is good little bit of heat something is slightly off can't put my finger on it At retail or slightly more I would absolutely positively recommend this. At secondary not worth it but definitely worth having a couple ounce sample so you're not investing in an entire bottle
