Tastes

Tasted with Laura Hay during presentation. Did not write notes so this is based on simple memory, This was incredibly smooth but also with great complexity with sweet, smokey subtle fruit and nut flavours. The finish was also very smooth, belying it's alcohol content, which was hardly noticeable due to the incredible balance displayed in the whiskey. Super stuff, but also on a completely different profile to the 21yo

Glenlivet 15 Year French Oak Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 1, 2014 (edited August 26, 2014)Tasted with Laura Hay during presentation. Did not write notes so this is based on simple memory, but it was quite a smooth subtle whiskey that was matured in American oak and displayed sweet vanillin characters and had a mellow finish. Not overly complex but very pleasant. With a hint of additional complexity I would have scored a point higher
