Blue Run Reflection I Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed December 27, 2022 (edited February 6, 2023)N: baking spice, wheat or pumpernickel bread, some funk on the back-end of the nose P: some funk on the palate too, thin, maybe a bit of spearmint F: short , feel like it drinks under proof O: tastes so much different than my first pour of this bottle. I actually liked the first pour better as I’m a little underwhelmed this time around. Love the bottle design though (so does my wife). -
N: burnt sugar, bready P: earthy, bold flavor, slight marshmallow F: warm but not long lasting, drinks well below the 120 proof mark O: rare example where I think the barrel proof is not as good as the proofed down pour. *note to self: need to taste again when I just didn’t have Indian food with Indian food smell on my hands

N: mint, pickles, snickerdoodle cookies, cake batter P: drinks like a rye to me (interested in what the mash bill looks like), balanced with some spice F: thin and a little drying, not a lot of burn and this is the first whiskey of the day O: this was part of a whiskey advent calendar (Drug City pick), so this is probably not the right place to put this review. Enjoyed this poor. Would definitely keep this on the shelf.
