Fresh crack in a glen cairn. A: medium to dark red; very good legs N: sweet, syrup, some heat, caramel, vanilla P: heat, oak, leather, baking spice, red hot candy, fresh linen F: extended warm toffee, cinnamon and baking spice. Very unique for 100% corn, heat is there on P and F, but it’s complex with a lot of interplay between several notes.

Fresh crack, neat in glencairn. A:light orange amber hue with good legs. N: floral, orange, oak, allspice, vanilla, a little caramel P: dry but still pleasant mouthfeel, nose outshines the palate, nose notes are muted and barely come through, oak and smoke, some cinnamon and vanilla. Almost scotch like. F: ok, not spectacular. Overall: drinks hotter than 82 proof, palate was a disappointment after a pretty good nose. Will give it another chance in a week or two.

Opened 3 weeks ago. 2nd pour neat in glencairn. A: amber copper; moderate legs N: warm bread, peanuts, cinnamon, pepper. Burns nostrils a little. P: roasted peanuts, pepper, oaky F: oak, vanilla & pepper with burn above 100 proof. Overall a bit harsh, but still imparts some good notes with heat if that’s your thing.
