Shares the scotch flavor profile of the single malt, but deeper, richer, more amber, a little closer to the character & mouthfeel of their barrel proof. I favor the barrel proof over it, but the bottled-in-bond is very good, a terrific bridge between bourbon and scotch.

Big, deep, dark, rich, drinks even higher than the proof, but overwhelms rather overpowers. Finish for days. A triumph.

They seem to be selling the scotch flavor profile on this one, but there is a thick mouthfeel on the single malt that tells you this is undeniably American bourbon.

The best Taylor I’ve tried yet, & immediately one of my favorite ryes.

The contrast of the essential lightness of this bourbon on the front end with the more robust charred flavor on the back is just delightful.

Accessible crowdpleaser, oozes likability.

Mileage may vary on store picks, but my Byron’s (OKC) single barrel select, at 6 years old and 113 proof, is an elegant, sweet wheater with a little rambunctious streak, and I love it.

A bourbon that actually checks all the boxes, but doesn’t quite sing the way you want it too.

Whew…those JD banana notes with the burst of rye sweetness is GOOD. A lot of power here, not so much in proof but just sheer flavor.

I’d probably take the bombastic fun of the barrel proof most every time if given the choice, but this showcases that Jack banana thing at its finest—& you really can’t go wrong with anywhere in the single barrel select lineup.
