High West Campfire (Discontinued)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in Utah), Multiple CountriesTasted October 31, 2020Smokey, sweet, touch of fruit. It is what you think it is, however my opinion is that it’s a touch too peaty and Smokey. It would be perfect if the sweetness of the bourbon came out a tiny bit more.
Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2019 RC6
Bourbon — Kentucky, USATasted September 1, 2020Creamy, buttery, spicy. I was expecting it to be more fruity but I’m not getting much of the cherry i get from makers regular bottle. I get a little mint on the nose. There’s a delicious vanilla in this that is very unique to Makers offerings. A warm dessert is the best way to describe it to me.
Willett Family Estate Small Batch Rye 4 Year
Rye — Kentucky, USATasted August 30, 2020This and Noah’s Mill are VERY SIMILAR. it’s been about 6 months since i had my Noah’s Mill bottle so i can’t tell you the differences, but i sipped this and it immediately came back to me. The flavor profile is identical. The nose is candied spice. If there was ever such thing as “herbal fruit” this would be it. It’s a mix between rye spice, bourbon spice, and tropical fruit. What makes this better than Noah’s Mill is that it’s got less of a candy flavor to it. I remember after 2-3 glasses of NM i would almost feel sick, like i ate a bag of sugary candy. This Willet Rye brings out those fruity, sweet flavors but balances them perfectly with Rye and Whiskey. All and all this is one of the best bourbons I’ve ever had. This is a more balanced version of Noah’s Mill. If NM is easier to get or cheaper to get i would start there to get an idea of what this is like.
Pikesville Straight Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USATasted August 23, 2020This is a vanilla bomb, which i did not expect from a Rye at all. ITS DELICIOUS. it’s a very sweet rye with some Graham Cracker on the nose and palate, it’s spicy but not as hot as you would expect for 110 proof. It’s very complex but the most forward notes i get are vanilla, graham cracker, spice, corn. Definitely buy if you’re looking for something fresh.60.0 USD per Bottle
Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USATasted August 21, 2020I found a barrel pick in LA. First thing i get on the nose is a sweet green apple. The ones that are almost sour. I always get Apple in buffalo trace products but this is the first time i got this kind. Caramel. Some sort of dark fruit(blackberry maybe). The pallet is candied Apple. The rye comes out here as well. The finish is very nice. This barrel pick is much better than the regular bottle but i had both and this will Absolutely not let you down. Classic Buffalo Trace bottle.
Old Grand-Dad 114 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USATasted June 13, 2020Helluva kick. Definitely lives up to the name. Classic bourbon taste(spicy, cinnamon, vanilla, fruit) This reminds me a lot of Evan Williams Bottle In Bond. If they made that bottle cask strength, this would be it. This should be on your bucket list.33.0 USD per BottleLAX airport (LAX)
Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USATasted April 30, 2020The first thing on nose i get is Winter Fresh chewing gum and vanilla/caramel. The pallet has a tiny bit of menthol and Tobacco which i normally hate but it blends very nice with the vanilla and Caramel. Hints of fruit that i can’t really pick out but i they’re delicious.44.0 USD per Bottle
Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USATasted April 5, 2020Such a smooth bourbon. I get caramel alongside all the classic bourbon notes. However, I get fireballs in the nose(the hard candy not the booze) with a hint of peanuts. I get peanuts on the palate a bit as well, it’s reminiscent of black label Evan but this white label is on another level. The finish gives me hot tamales(the candy). This is a bourbon that you NEED to have in your collection for the $13-$18 price tag. This bottle to me should easily be worth $40.
Angel's Envy Rye Finished in Caribbean Rum Casks
Rye — USATasted March 26, 2020It’s not Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It’s FRENCH TOAST CRUNCH lol. The first time you taste this, thats all your going to taste. But it changes into more rye the more you drink and balances out. It’s so unique it’s worth the buy just to say you had it. This is first try tho. I feel angels envy is very nuanced and always gets better the more you try it94.0 USD per Bottle
