Tastes

3/4 through the bottle and revisited tonight. Had to do notes because I got coconut. Nose- oak, caramel, cream. Taste - coconut. Coconut meat, milk and shell. Creamy with some char and wood notes. Caramel, vanilla. Really unique and the best this has ever tasted. Finish is still short but getting all kinds of new flavors.

Nose - pepper, rye, and an almost tangy linger that I can't place. Taste- dry fruits, some sour notes, fresh dill? Weird but it's not overpowered. Hints of sweetness balances that out, oak and barrel dark spices, pepper. Finish wasn't long but oak, rye, almost leather. No age on this bottle but it tastes older than the legally required 4 yrs. I always like EHT and I like rye. It's good but I'd take the Single Barrel over this one again.

Nose- leads with rye and spice, you smell the proof. There is some fruit. Apricots or other ripe pit fruits. Taste- grass and rye with citrus peels. Abv spikes on the tongue but less than Bourbon Rare Breed. Pepper. Finish- Rye, duh, brown bread, Almost a salty finish. Cardamom pods. Green apple slips in at the end.

Uncorking - Nose - alcohol and spices, mostly clove and cinnamon, burnt sugar, some banana leading dark fruit. Taste - Yum, maltiness like a dark beer with Banana's Foster. Burnt sugar and walnut woods, some barrel char. Even getting bits of mint even. Gives some tongue tingles. 115 proof is a great balance of flavor and easy to drink.

Uncorking- Nose- oak, char, spice Taste- oak, vanilla, some caramel, very classic bourbon flavors. It's regular Knob Creek turned up a notch. Finish- All sweet and wood.

Uncorking- nose - Has that Willet like flavor. I don't know what it is. Maybe some ripe banana. Fruit. Taste - more Willet, fruit, nutmeg, almost rye but I know this has no rye in the mash. It's my first Stranahan's and it's interesting enough I'll try more.

Nose- malty funk, gentle smoke, not in love with the nose but the.. Taste- yum, smoke, peat, orange zest, pepper, toast and floral hints, flowering scrub brush towards the end with honey Finish- rich smoke blends into chocolate and bits of peat almost cola

Nose- Buttery, wood, Taste - buttery corn, cherry, fruit, oak, Finish- more wood, dark berries and wine, tannic, slightly drying,

Nose- definitely a willet product. It's a clove rye scent. Subdued from their family estate closer to pot still but definitely there. Taste - sweet, Bits of pecan, cinnamon and all spice, brown sugar Finish - rye grain and dry, raisins. Med length
