Privateer Navy Yard Rum
Navy Rum — Massachusettes, USA
Reviewed March 31, 2020 (edited February 27, 2021)I'll be honest, reviewing this rum is quite the challenge. Its reminiscent of rums like Ron Diplomatico Reserve with its almost desert like sweetness, but also rums like the Appleton 12 year with its slight funk and tropical notes. What sets it apart is the level of sweet wood (think fresh sawdust and fresh spring woodland) and the punch of oak on first sip. I was unsure of American rum (I do have a soft spot for Sailor Jerry due to my underage drinking days), but this really has me happy and wondering; what else does American rum have to offer?50.0 USD per Bottle -
This is THE rum that really got me interested in the different styles and expressions of rum, and it still holds up. Powerful estery nose, citrus, bananas, brown sugar and alcohol astringency. The palette is a wallop of over ripe bananas, vanilla, pineapple, with a thick and luscious mouth feel. For those wanting to experience an OP rum, this will run them running and screaming. But for the drinker with an open palette, and a thirst for complicated and BIG aromas and flavors, this is recommended.20.0 USD per Bottle

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B519
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 25, 2020 (edited May 16, 2020)EJ is one of my favorite bourbons, and the BP expression never disappoints, and this is no exception. Soft on the nose considering the abv, with a well blended palette of walnuts, maple, brown sugar, citrus and vanilla. A small splash of water brings out subtle notes of melon and an almost sweet oak. Simple; a delicious bourbon no matter how you put it.53.0 USD per Bottle -
Ron Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva Rum
Aged Rum — Venezuela
Reviewed March 21, 2020 (edited August 15, 2020)Simply incredible. The aromas from the bottle are amazing, pipe tobacco, black pepper, vanilla, citrus, caramel, oak and a slight ABV sting. The palate delivers all those, but with more in depth complexity in the pipe tobacco, black pepper and caramel notes. Enough spice to keep it interesting, without being too strong. Excellent sipper, though it could very well make a great cocktail mixer.35.0 USD per Bottle -
Pusser's Rum Original Admiralty Blend (Blue Label)
Navy Rum — Multiple Countries
Reviewed March 16, 2020 (edited July 15, 2022)Delightfully complex and drinkable, and affordable. You wont be disappointed with this rum, with aromas of pipe tobacco, vanilla, citrus, caramel and some hogo in the background at all times. Palate follows suit, though a little more subtle. A superb rum, no matter how you cut it. To me, this is a rum suitable for those flirting with the liquor and the experienced just wanting an affordable, delicious rum,25.0 USD per Bottle -
One of my go to peated Scotches. Delivers enough smokey, salty goodness with lovely notes and aromas of vanilla, soft citrus, butterscotch and toast to really drove it home. Also, for a scotch of its pedigree and age, affordable (sort of). Recommended for those really ready to dig into Scotchs more peaty offerings.50.0 USD per Bottle

I'm just really getting into the rum game, and so far this is one of the best I've had. Great sipper with aromas of brown sugar, wood, spice, and citrus and slight hogo. The taste is superb following the nose with with more pronounced brown sugar, citrus, wood and hogo with a subtle earthiness. Great rum!30.0 USD per Bottle
