Admit I wrote JD off. Just tried this at a bar in RVA and loved it. It’s definitely sweet heat, but the sweetness comes first, coating the mouth gently. It’s not sickeningly sweet like candy, but warm like pie. Then the barrel proof heat kicks in and reminds you what you’re drinking. I prefer barrel proof, but so many burst through the door so to speak. This one proved to me that even “heat” can be multilayered.

-Dark fruits on the nose -I get red hots on the palate -Low $40s in Va -Single Barrel picks are generally better in my opinion

Price is tough to swallow. That being said it’s one of the best I’ve had!
