There’s a good amount of heat and spice in the nose. The palate is sweet at first but transitions into a fair amount of heat and rye spice with noticeable influence from the wood near the end. The finish is on the hotter side and of medium length. Overall a decent bourbon.

At first sniff I get notes of corn and oak with a bit of vanilla intertwined. It really has a inviting nose. And the flavors do not disappoint! It’s sweet and robust without being overpowering or offensive. I get notes of dark brown sugar, corn and oak again, a bit of worn leather and very nice spice at the end. The char on the oak really shines through in the nice long finish. I’m really impressed with this bourbon. So much so where it might be my new go to. Can’t wait to try it in an old fashioned!

Was kind of disappointed with this one. I’m a fan of the standard BH and I’ve had the Alberta Rye this was blended with and it was really nice too. Together they made a whiskey that I found to be disjointed. I wouldn’t get it again.

I get a big whiff of caramelized banana and chocolate when I nose the glass. The flavor on this one is interesting. Its reminiscent of rye, but the spice is muted. The banana shows up again but this time it tastes more like green bananas. I found the finish to be hot but short.

Starts out with a reasonably sweet vanilla vein then transitions into a smooth middle with nice spice. Has a warming medium long finish where the wood comes through. Bought it as a mixer but is surprisingly good as a stand alone.

A really nice bourbon. The rye comes through on the nose but is more mellow on the pallet. Sweet, but not overtly so. Finish is shorter but smooth and lovely.

Pretty good as a sipper but it really shines in an old fashioned.

Very nice, versatile bourbon. Great on its own but also really nice in a cocktail or part of a mixer.

The first word that comes to mind for this one is robust. It’s malty and thick. It’s sweet and has a nice vein of vanilla running through the middle. In a lot of ways it’s very reminiscent of a bourbon.

Nice and light. The cognac influence is there but rather understated. It has a pretty quick finish. It’s nice but I wouldn’t buy it again.
