Redemption High Rye Bourbon Single Barrel Select
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed August 7, 2021 (edited October 25, 2021)Nose - caramel corn, vanilla, cinnamon. Palate - Upfront hit with vanilla extract, cinnamon, and barrel char. A wee bit thin on the palate but a long lingering tingle there from the rye spiciness. -
On the nose - banana bread and Honey Nut Cheerios, and maraschino cherries. On the palate - big cherry note to start out but definitely not the cough syrup kind. It takes me back to thinking of a Roy Rogers. Rich with hints of honey in there as well. Not picking up any banana on the palate. A solid bottled in bond bourbon.

On the nose - Ridiculous amount of vanilla, similar to vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting, sweet and rich. On the palate - big vanilla is there with orange zest, creme brûlée, slight oak. Not a big finish yet not surprising with no rye. Very easy drinking - makes you want to keep going back for more.

Caramel drizzled banana bread with a hint of walnut nuttiness. Amazing nose that you consistently get with Old Forester products. The walnut nuttiness comes through on the forefront of the palate with notes of vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, and oak. A solid and reliable offer. A nice competitor to Buffalo Trace given the price point and proof. A great beginner bourbon but also an excellent daily drinker for enthusiasts.
