Macallan Classic Cut (2018 Release)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 21, 2019 (edited November 18, 2020)A spiced peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The nose is elusive, a hidden peanut husk that highlights the salt with a hint of grape. The taste is a rich and spicy raspberry jam. Halfway through the bottle notes of cinnamon, ginger and hibiscus can be found on the pallet. Additionally, chocolate in the finish is more noticeable.99.99 USD per Bottle -
Arran 14 Year (2010 Release)
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed September 26, 2019 (edited February 20, 2022)Fresh grape, strawberry melon with Crème brûlée. You get the burnt sugar light to Medium salt and some vegetal notes. Some hotness, black pepper and bitterness on the finish but it is at 46%. I don’t know if I would buy a bottle again but would try on occasion. -
This is an over salted orange fruitcake. Copper, butterscotch, brown sugar, savory char and smoke and bright cherries when first opened on the nose. The pallet has a medium richness exposing the pallet with the added taste of strawberries medium salt. The end of the bottle lends to the spiced side of dark fruit and a mild orange citrus. It still has quite the kick on the pallet that might turn away beginners.

This is a shy whisky. When the bottle is first opened the nose has some rich fruit chocolate and copper. The taste while viscous is watery the first couple o seconds then a slight serried malt and milk chocolate, then medium peat and smoke finishes off the palette. This whisky however developed in the bottle , bringing; orange, melon, plum, slight banana, fresh cut grass, hay, slight caramel/mint and milk chocolate. The peat and smoke comes more to the front as the bottle goes but most of all the salt, sometimes overwhelming so. The finish is medium to long on a all around great whisky. One of my favorite Johnny Walkers if you like salty smoky whiskies.

Highland Park 12 Year Viking Honour
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed July 28, 2019 (edited September 21, 2019)A musty malt heater sweetness with stone fruits (predominantly peach) and salt. Upon tasting a rich heavy sweetness Leeds into smoke, peat, and mellow spearmint. There is a hint of floral notes that add complexity yet staying smooth and well rounded. A drying chocolate finish makes you go back for one more sip, delicious.
