Compass Box Great King St Glasgow Blend
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed December 6, 2015 (edited April 21, 2018)I love this whisky. I get citrus (particularly Meyer lemons) and peat on the nose with some vanilla. The palate is sweet with mellow lemon and vanilla almost like a lemon chess pie with some peat going on in the background. The finish is moderate and sweet with more subtle peat tying everything together. -
Westland Sherry Wood American Single Malt
American Single Malt — Washington , USA
Reviewed December 6, 2015This one is all dried fruits and sherried notes on the nose. It makes you think it's going to be a Sherry bomb on the palate like an Aberlour A'bunadh or Glenfarclas but then the palate is really chill. It carries the dried fruits from sherry casks along with some fig preserves and fruit cake. Finish is moderate length with tart dried fruits like dried cherries or currants.
