Tastes

Last time I had this was 6 years ago when it costed little and glad to have had a shot for 600yen at the distillery. Everything is in balance with this whisky and it's rich in flavor and made for a western palate.

Nose is great - floral and light honey. On the palate it starts off a little one dimensional and super smooth but then there is some nice spice kicks in - not as sweet as I was expecting it to be

The nose is full of ripe caramel which continues to the palate with a little syrup and chocolate. Super smooth. Had very different experiences with this in a wide vs narrow (glencairn) glass as I picked up a lot more on the wider nosing glass. Felt more one dimensional in the glencairn. Maybe I've had too many today :) Take 2 - nose full of ripe oranges and pineapple

High likeliness to the 16 year old but crisper, a little lighter, a touch of saltiness and the nose is just beautiful

Spicy and sweet sherry. Finish is also great

The amount of fruit on the nose held so much promise but let down in the palate delivery.

The nose was smokey and peaty on the palate.
